Our studio was conceived from a true passion for glass! We change the way you see light... literally.
Colorful Visions is owned and operated by the creative mother/daughter team, Sandy Seff & Kathy Seff. We began of humble beginnings, creating custom art glass in a home-studio. In the early 1990's, Sandy Seff was accepted into The Island Gallery, located in Shelter Island Heights, NY. The founder and owner of The Island Gallery, Carol Wilson, was quoted in the Suffolk County News, "Sandy's glass work is extremely popular; it's the best received of any other glass artist we've had."
Shelter Island was the main venue for Sandy Seff's art glass. Kathy Seff joined her in that gallery in 2000, where they stayed as joint exhibitors for the next three years. In April 2001, Sandy and Kathy opened a store on Main Street in the South Shore town of Bayport in Long Island, New York. With the already established following and the overwhelming reception of South Shore residents their work gained ever increasing popularity. The Studio at 813 Montauk Highway in Bayport is constantly changing. Sandy & Kathy are known for continually creating new and innovative art glass that is either decorative or functional but usually both!

If you haven't visited the Bayport Gallery you are missing quite an experience. The art glass gets rave reviews and the personalities of the two artists is energetic. When you walk around the shop the colors will dazzle you and the artists' creations will amaze you!

Colorful Visions (that is, Sandy Seff & Kathy Seff specifically!) create beautiful and original gifts and home decor in art glass. They also specialize in Creating Long Island's Finest Custom Art Glass.

Artist Bio
Sandy Seff was always intrigued by the colorful glass bottles on the window sill at her childhood home. After studying abroad in Spain, the enduring beauty of European art glass planted a seed that would bloom later in life.
In 1989, she began pursuing her creative passion...art glass. Her inner passion and creativity motivate Sandy to challenge herself artistically and technically in this fascinating media. She passes on her passion and knowledge to her daughter, Kathy, who comments, "I've learned from one of the best! From her technical skills to her fearless attitude towards glass, my mom has an amazing knowledge of and creativity in glass."

Artist Bio
Kathy Seff is a second-generation glass artist, growing up with glass art being created by her mom in the home studio. After earning a degree in graphic design and working her way up to art director at an advertising/print company, she decided to become a freelance designer and began her own business in graphic design. All along the way she was working with her mother designing and creating in glass. Now, she works and creates at Colorful Visions full time working on custom art glass and retail pieces for the gallery.
Along with her mom, Sandy, Kathy has studied with renowned American glass artists. However, it is her mother that Kathy credits for her zeal, enthusiasm and knowledge to create in this amazing medium. "I am constantly amazed at Kathy's creative imagination. She carries out her ideas with the expertise of a true artist," explains mom, Sandy.
